Our Culture

Anthony Shintai Olabayo Amao is a creative visual artist currently based in Birmingham. Born in Nigeria and moved to the UK at the age of 10. Anthony’s passion for photography and film-making within the Hip-Hop Culture first developed from his scene as a teen. Anthony wanted to document his friends journey as they embarked on this new stimulating adventure within the Hip Hop Culture. This has now blossomed into documenting the Hip-Hop Community World Wide.

Anthony Shintai’s work was introduced to HIP Gallery Curator Alan Raw, by the Universal Zulu Nation UK Chapter, who have been doing great work in the local area and around the world for nearly half a century. ‘Our Culture’ is being shown as part of the UZN Hip Hop History Month celebrations.
