The Hull International Photography Festival (HIPFest)

Unfortunately, it is time to make the inevitable announcement. Hull International Photography Festival (HIPfest) will not be happening this year. This would have been the seventh year of what has become the UK’s biggest annual photography festival. An event that has brought many of the biggest names in the photographic art world to exhibit Hull, whilst teaching and nurturing new talent locally.

The shifting situation with COVID19 has made planning very difficult and some artists would rather show their work when footfall is likely to be higher next year. However, the main difficulty has been the loss of our main gallery space and festival venue, as Princes Quay went into administration during the lockdown. We had to moved The Creative & Cultural Organisation out of the centre and we are now developing a new home at the Prospect Centre.

Hull Independent Photography Club (HIPclub) has continued and now has studios in our new space behind Amy Johnsons Statue on Prospect Street, to continue teaching photographers from age 8 up to adults.

Many thanks for all of your support every previous year and look out for updates about next years festival and future exhibitions on our website
